Apart from the SP Concept-based SUV, Sportage and Carnival will be the two other models coming to India
Kia is planning to enter the Indian car market with its first SUV based on the SP Concept in September 2019. Kia has another brand new SUV in the pipeline for India which is slated for a 2020 debut. But these are not the only two Kia cars coming to India as Kia now says that it will have four cars in the market soon, including the SP Concept-based SUV.

The confirmation comes from Vishal Jadhav, president of Crescendo Worldwide, a consulting firm that is helping Kia set up shop in India. He said in a press statement, “We believe in bringing more and more business to India and making India a Global Manufacturing Hub. For KIA project, We are targeting to reach Tier II and Tier III automotive suppliers specially from small cities, which will support KIA to make cost effective products without compromising on quality. We will get to see 4 models of KIA in India.”

Not all 4 models that Kia will initially launch in India will be localised. Kia will also assemble some cars in India which will cater to a relatively high-end market. These could be the Sportage SUV and the Carnival MPV. Kia is yet to finalise its upcoming launches but we expect the carmaker to launch a car every six to eight months after the launch of its first product in 2019.
