Mahindra to introduce new products

Mahindra and Mahindra is prepped up to tackle the growing competition in their mainstream product segment – UVs (Utility Vehicle). In an Interview with Economic Times, Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, states that they have product line-up planned till 2022-2025. The company is currently selling Scorpio – their first luxury SUV, Xylo, XUV500, Ssangyong Rexton, Thar, Verito and Verito Vibe. Despite being a major utility manufacturer, Mahindra and Mahindra is currently the third largest car manufacturer in the country, giving tough fight to Hyundai, Honda and others.
Dr. Goenka said, to stay competitive in the segment, the company will launch new products. He also said in near future company will introduce three new vehicle platforms. Furthermore, they will upgrade the existing line-up to keep them competitive - 'we ensure that our existing products do not get cannibalized in a large manner by introduction of new product,' he added.

Scorpio facelift
In this facelift, Scorpio will receive radical changes inside out. Scorpio was company's first product into the premium SUV space rivaling straight with the Tata Safari. Its been over a decade since Mahindra introduced the Scorpio in India and the SUV is also selling in European, African and South American markets. In its life cycle, this is the first time Scorpio is receiving an extensive revamp. The test mule has been spotted plenty of time on Indian roads. Though, the overall shape of the SUV is unaltered but it will feature entirely new front and rear. The car will reportedly offer contemporary 'in-things' like LED tail lamps, DRLs. On the Inside, the facelifted Scorpio will sport brand-new dashboard along with XUV500 inspired steering wheel. The updated Scorpio is expected to hit the Indian market by year end.
'S101' compact SUV
Mahindra is also entering into the riling compact SUV segment leaded by Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. The compact SUV is likely to hit the market by next year. At present, The company is extensively testing the vehicle. The spied test mule depicts that the vehicle is under 4 meter thus revealing itself from excise duty. The vehicle will reportedly debut the turbocharged petrol engines of Mahindra.
Next Generation Bolero
Just like the Scorpio, Bolero test mules are also doing round. India's largest selling utility vehicle is about to receive a next generation in couple of years. The test mule indicates a complete makeover of the MUV. Though it retains the conventional design of the Bolero but will certainly be bestowed with contemporary detailing.
