After making major cosmetic upgrades on the Logan, Mahindra christened the sedan as Verito. The company has already announced its plan to launch the compact version of the Verito to avail the excise duty cut.
The Verito’s compact version vehicle has been spotted several times now and our friends at Indian Autos Blog have caught a fleet of test mules in its frame. From our knowledge, the Verito compact launch is just around the corner and Mahindra wants to leave no stone unturned.
The company has been working on this vehicle, since a while and this will be the new entry-level vehicle into the Mahindra brand. This notchback/hatchback will be powered by a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that churns out 65bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Now, the question that is unanswered is if this utility vehicle manufacturer will continue with the sale of the conventional Verito? Mahindra is yet to revert on that. However, we believe if the hatchback version is launched both the products can sustain, increasing the production and thus reducing the cost.
