Mahindra's cumulative sales jumped 19.84 percent during June 2010

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India's largest Utility Vehicle (UV) maker today reported a sales growth of 19.84 percent in its total sales, during June 2010. The company sold 27,562 units of its vehicles in the Indian market during this month, as against the 22,999 units it sold in the same period last year.
The company continued its strong performance in the domestic market during the period with registering a 16.50 percent increase in its total domestic sales when compared to the same period last year. Where the total domestic sales of the company during the month of June 2009 were 22,526 units, it managed to take this figure to 26,243 units in the month of June 2010.
However, the company registered a decrease of 3.64 per cent in sales of its utility vehicles including Scorpio, Xylo, Bolero and pick-ups. Where the figure was 17,653 units in June 2009, it dipped to 17,010 units in June 2010. With this, the sales of the company's only sedan Mahindra Logan increased 12.38 per cent to 563 units during the month. Mahindra had sold 501 units of this car during the same period last year.
Moreover, Mahindra reported a twofold increase in the sales of its three-wheelers and Gio and Maxximo mini-trucks during June 2010 at 7,559 units, as compared to 3,357 units sold during the same period last year. In addition to this, the sales of the Light commercial vehicle sales from Mahindra Navistar Automotives Ltd registered a sales growth of 9.46 percent at 1,111 units, as against 1,015 units sold during the same period last month.
Exports of the company jumped to 1,201 units during the period, as against 473 units sold during June, 2009 that registers an increase of more than 100 per cent.
