The Maruti Dzire has achieved a milestone by serving 25 lakh customers, solidifying its position as India's best-selling sedan. It is the first sedan in the industry to reach the 1 million sales mark as it continues to dominate the market with a 50 percent market share for that body type.

Maruti Dzire Timeline
The Dzire was first introduced in 2008 and carried the ‘Swift’ prefix, since it was an extended version of the hatchback. It was a spacious 4.2-metre long offering which was well accepted by private as well as commercial buyers. The second-generation model was launched in 2012, where it was reduced to a sub-4-metre sedan, a budding segment at the time.

Current Feature Highlights
The Maruti Dzire is currently in its third generation and has been among the best-selling sedans for the past 15 years. It features niceties such as automatic LED projector headlights, cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual front airbags, ESP with hill-hold assist, and a rear camera. This is also the best-looking and most distinguishable from its hatchback sibling.
Powertrains, Prices And Rivals
Powering the Maruti Dzire is a 90PS/113Nm 1.2-litre petrol engine, with 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions. It can be opted with a CNG powertrain too, which claims a fuel economy of up to 31.12 km/kg. Prices for the Maruti Dzire range from Rs 6.51 lakh to Rs 9.39 lakh (ex-showroom), and it rivals the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor.
