The Maruti Vitara Brezza is proving to be a hit for the manufacturer. Maruti has successfully registered 20,000 bookings within a fortnight of the Brezza’s launch. The aforementioned figure resembles the numbers (25,000 bookings in two weeks) achieved by the immensely popular Renault Kwid. Deliveries of the latest urban SUV began on March 25, which further helped increase the booking numbers. Vitara Brezza is a good-looking car and, when seen on the roads, will attract more potential buyers.
The Brezza, although a late arrival to the compact SUV space, is an important addition to the space. The car maker has checked all the right boxes for the Indian market. Its rivals – the Indian Mahindra TUV300 and the American Ford EcoSport – are both good cars, but the Brezza is a perfect blend of the two. While the EcoSport has good driving dynamics and is a stunner to look at, the TUV300 is more spacious and delivers a decent fuel economy. The Brezza delivers a high fuel economy, along with a satisfactory driving performance. It looks good as well, and has enough space to carry five people comfortably.
The car comes loaded with features. It has Suzuki’s SmartPlay infotainment system and a simple instrument cluster, but it does support mood lighting. It has LED light guides, both at the front as well as the rear, and also features dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) and Suzuki TECT (Total Effective Control Technology).
Referring to safety norms, Maruti said, “The Vitara Brezza is future ready for safety regulations. It is the first car in the country to be certified for offset and side impact crash tests which will be enforced in India in 2017.”
On the occasion of the car crossing the 20 K marker, Mr. R.S. Kalsi, executive director (M&S) stated, “We are delighted at customers’ response to Vitara Brezza. They have appreciated it for its sporty and muscular design and the combination of features offered at multiple trim levels. Our endeavour now is to deliver these cars quickly so that customers can enjoy their Vitara Brezza.” He added, “Within the first fortnight of its launch, the Vitara Brezza has received around 70,000 customer enquiries and 20,000 bookings.”
