Mercedes-Benz B-Class is coming this September. Finally, the wait is coming to an end, as India gets it first premium sports tourer. This will be the new entry-level Mercedes-Benz in India. Pricing of the car hasn’t been disclosed, but it is likely to be priced between Rs 23-29lakh. After showing multiple concepts, the B-Class was launched at the 11th IAA Frankfurt Motor Show, which was held in last September. With the length of approximately C-Class, B offers loads of space in the first and the second row.
Even the boot of the B-Class is large enough to gobble suitcases of five for a weekend trip. Mercedes-Benz hasn’t revealed engine specifications, but we predict the 1.6-litre diesel and 1.8-litre petrol mills will be offered on the B-Class. Safety features like Lane Assist and Blind Spot could also be introduced on the Indian version of the B-Class as well.
The B-Class will be introduced as a CKD, and this will help Mercedes-Benz to reduce the cost. Mercedes-Benz's assembly plant expansion is on the verge of completion and soon it will have the capacity to assembly 20,000 units annually. The paint booth will also be ready by this July, which means even painting will soon become an in-house facility.
