CarDekho has been constantly reporting about the Mercedes-Benz B-Class Sports tourer, which has been reported to be the cheapest model of the giant by far. Merc have finally unveiled it at Buddh International Circuit in Delhi in the presence of Mercedes-Benz India's MD and CEO, Peter T Honegg . However, the launch will take place sometime in October. The version which has been revealed is surely not India made, as it's a left hand driven.
Although, not so much about the spec details and the pricing have been revealed yet, but our sources suggest it to be in the price bracket of Rs 23-29 lakh and its closest competitor will be Audi Q3 and BMW X1. The B-Class was said to be coming in both diesel and petrol engine options, but the first to come will be the petrol version, diesel might be rolled out later.
Whereas, the petrol version will house a 1.6-litre turbo mill, the diesel version might also carry a 1.6-litre motor. The standard features which are expected to be in the vehicle will be Pre-Safe, Lane Assist and various other modern ones. It will initially come as a CKD, so that the price of the vehicle can be kept competitive.
