Craze for chrome seems to have gripped the Indian car industry these days. Following the trend, Mitsubishi has launched the limited edition Mitsubishi Outlander Chrome. The car has lots of chrome on the inside and outside as part of its aesthetic upgragation. The new Mitsubishi Outlander Chrome price is just above the existing SUV and it has loads of accessories and features added.

As part of upping the aesthetics of the car, the Mitsubishi Outlander Chrome has a roof mounted spoiler and chrome plated ORVM. Besides, there are body protection mouldings on the sides. On the inside, there is a roof mounted DVD player with display. Under the dashboard, there is blue illumination. However, experts believe that inspite of introducing cosmetic changes to the Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi should bring in a diesel powered Outlander that will help boost sales. As per reports, Mitsubishi India sold around 33 units last month and moreover, the average per month sale is around 44 units per month. Over 1060 units of Toyota Fortuner were sold last month completely ruling.

Feeling the same pains of declining sales is Honda’s SUV Honda CR-V. Honda sold 41 units of CR-V last month and this suggests that both the Outlander and CR-V are in dire need of a diesel engine.The limited Edition Mitsubishi Outlander has the same engine under its bonnet. The Outlander is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine with 170 PS and 226 Nm of maximum torque. It also has a 6-speed INVECS-III CVT transmission.

Witnessing the recent surge in the demand for diesel cars in India, it is evident that both Mitsubishi and Honda will be burning the midnight oil in order to bring in diesel trims. Honda is expected to bring the diesel variant of its best selling car Honda City. However, due to the price cut, Honda City managed to get some ups on the sales chart still if City would have been in diesel it would have clicked unprecedented sales.
