Audi A4 facelift will soon join the war among luxury car facelifts in India. It is likely that the launch of new Audi A4 sedan in India can stretch upto mid 2012 with a formal unveiling expected during the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. The facelift will meet head-on with the new BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. While Mercedes-Benz has already launched the facelifted C-Class in India and the BMW’s new 3-Series was recently unveiled at Munich will make its worldwide debut next year.

Audi A4 facelift in all likelihood will be available in 4 trims namely 1.8 TFSI, 2.0 TFSI, 3.2 FSI Quattro and 2.0 TDI. This line-up of engines is as it is carried from the extant variants. Audi’s engineers have employed ‘a pendulum-type absorber’ in the dual mass flywheel. The new start/stop system and brake energy recuperation will boost up the fuel economy of Audi A4. Coming to the interiors of Audi A4 facelift, the designers have reworked the interior with a new design steering wheel. That said, the Audi MMI (Multi Media Interface) has also been refined and can now be operated with the help of just four buttons. The quality of materials used has also been upgraded over the last model.

In terms of design, Audi A4 facelift seems to be much inspired by Audi A6. The new Audi A4 gets a refreshed look with new headlights that resemble most Audi cars today. Audi’s new ominous looks are rendered by the stylish headlights with integrated LED day time running lights which makes anyone realize the advent of Audi not only in dark but also in daylight. The grille now gets shiny inserts on its slats which make the car look oddly unique. Towards the rear, the new tail lights are also reminiscent of the LED stop lamp on the new Audi A6.
