When Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new S-Class coupe, the world (and us) went gaga over it. It perfectly combined the curves and lines with two its two door profile. And from then on, we wanted this moment to arrive. Think of a luxury yacht with a 6.0-litre V12 biturbo engine that puts out a maximum power of 630 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. Now imagine that with four wheels and two doors. That’s the new Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe for you. It goes from zero to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds on to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. And in typical Mercedes-AMG fashion, the S65 AMG Coupe comes with AMG sports suspension, based on MAGIC BODY CONTROL with curve tilting function and ROAD SURFACE SCAN.
Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH: "There are AMG fans for whom our V12 biturbo engine is the measure of all things. For this clientele we have developed a unique car in the form of the new S 65 AMG Coupé. From driving dynamics to comfort and equipment – our new twelve-cylinder coupé surpasses even the highest of expectations."
The S65 AMG Coupe comes with an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic which offers three individual modes - Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M) at a press of a button. The Sport and Manual modes enhance the dynamic properties of the car with the brief, precisely defined cutback of ignition and injection when shifting up a gear under full load providing drama and sportiness. The ECO start/stop function is activated in transmission mode "C".
Inside, the S65 AMG Coupe features exclusively developed AMG sports seats with electric adjustment, memory function, seat heating and climate control, AMG Exclusive nappa leather with seat upholstery layout in a diamond-pattern design, new three-spoke sports steering wheel and a 31.2 centimetre, high-res colour TFT display in place of the instrument cluster. Other standard features include 360-degree camera, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, Driving Assistance package Plus and keyless-go package.
There’s an Exclusive package that includes nappa leather roof liner, a leather-lined dashboard, door centre panels in a diamond-pattern design, leather-clad roof grab handles, chromed door pins and AMG stainless steel door sill panels, illuminated in white. Customers ordering designo AMG Exclusive nappa leather upholstery are able to choose between black, porcelain/espresso brown, saddle brown/black and crystal grey/black.
The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is all set to go on sale in Germany for 244,009 Euros with the market launch will take place in the end of September 2014.
