The Nissan Evalia (earlier known as NV200) has been in the talks before the 2010 Auto Expo. The Evalia will be built as a JV between Nissan and Hinduja Group’s Ashok Leyland. As per the agreement, the chassis of the NV200 will be shared between the Nissan Evalia and the Ashok Leyland Stile. The Evalia will be powered by a 1.5-litre dCi engine that also powers the Sunny, producing either 105bhp or 85bhp.
On the other hand, the Stile could be powered by a 1.5-litre 130bhp oil burner. Our sources confirm that the Evalia’s pre-production models are now ready and the MPV will be available at the nearest Nissan showroom by August or September. Evalia will compete with the likes of Innova and also the Xylo from Mahindra’s spectrum.
