Nissan Motors has taken wraps off from their new hatchback 2014 Nissan Pulsar. We reported earlier that company has teased the Pulsar online couple of days back. The vehicle is designed for the European market and will be manufactured at the company's Barcelona manufacturing plant and will go on sale in the coming months. The Pulsar resembles Qashqai and X-Trail in terms of design and even share few powerplants.

Speaking of the design, the all-new Pulsar boasts Nissan's design language, the front features Nissan's 'V-motion' grille which extends through the hood giving a characteristic 'V'. The V-motion grille is flanked by swept back headlamps with signature boomerang shaped day-time-running-LED lighting; mimicking its elder brothers Qashqai and X-trail. The rear features wrap-around headlamps, dual tone bumpers and integrated spoiler with stop lamps. The car rides on machined black and silver finish alloys. The overall length of the vehicle is 4,385mm with a wheel base of 2,700mm.

On the inside, we get similar Nissan interiors, a three spoke multi function Nissan steering wheel with two tone interiors and chrome detailing. The vehicle also features a 5.8 inch high definition touch screen infotainment system powered by 'NISSANCONNECT' – that features live social networking feeds and news update and offers host of music playback options, namely, Aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

As you know the world is downsizing the engines and extracting more juice from a minuscule motor through a turbo charger along with an inter-cooler. The all-new Pulsar range features all turbo charged petrol and diesel engines. The diesel Pulsar is powered by the 1.5 liter K9K diesel co-developed by Nissan and Renault, mustering 110PS of maximum power and 260Nm of peak torque. The 1.2 liter in-line 4-cylinder DIG-T turbo petrol motor is pulling the gasoline powered Pulsar, the engine extracts 115PS at 5000rpm and 190Nm of max torque in the range of 2000 and 4000rpm.

Nissan says that they will introduce a more powerful 1.6 liter turbo charged petrol mill producing 190PS of power. The engine is expected to join the Pulsar clan of engines in 2015. The Pulsar feature Nissan's X-Tronic automatic transmissions along with 6-speed manual. The vehicle also features intelligent start stop system which shuts the engine when the preset idle time is achieved and brings it back to life the moment you touch the gas pedal.
