Nissan to recall 604,500 vehicles from US, Canada and Mexico

Nissan Motors, the global auto maker will recall 604,500 automotives which were sold in Canada, United States and Mexico. The Japanese auto major will call back three of its models due to safety reasons as defects were found in the batteries as well as power wheel steering. As per the auto giant, the these vehicles have manufacturing defects which will be corrected in due course of time. These cars were manufactured in Mexico, Canada and United States. The three models which will be called back are Nissan Xterra the SUV, Nissan Sentra, the compact car and Nissan Frontier pickup truck. As per the company, 303,000 Frontier pickup trucks, 283,000 Xterra Sports utility vehicle and 18,500 Sentra are eligible for free service repairs. The problem encountered in the Frontier and Xterra is in the handling of the steering which is coordinated with the movements of the wheels. And with Sentra, it is speculated to be the defective batteries.

Apart from Nissan Motors, Mitsubishi Motors will also recall 250,000 cars in Japan. The news was recently announced by the Transport Ministry that due to leakage problems in the engine, the cars will be called back. As per the reports, the company will recall seven car models including eK Wagon alongwith Ottio and Clipper  (manufactured for Nissan Motors). Another big car brand, Toyota Motors has recalled almost 12 million units which is the highest recall till date. The auto maker, said recently, that, the company will recall 136,000 small units from Japan and Europe to correct the defect found in the steering wheel.

Apart from correcting the manufacturing errors, Nissan auto motives, is also planning to introduce a two seater electric car Nissan Leaf and plans to manufacture 250,000 EVs in one year. The new generation car will be seen on the roads of US and Japan by December and in Europe it will roll out next year. In India, Nissan Motors will come with a new variant of Nissan Micra, Nissan Micra Diesel. As per the speculations, Nissan Micra diesel version will be launched before Christmas. The all new Nissan Micra will be available in two versions XV and XV Premium. The car is expected to have 1. 5 litre CRDI engine which will churn a power of 65-70 hp with maximum torque of 150-160 Nm. Nissan currently has four models in India such as Nissan 370Z, Nissan Micra (petrol version), Nissan Teana and Nissan X Trail.
