Fiat made the world premier of the new family member of its 500 series – 500x compact crossover SUV. The 500 range include a 500 hatchback, 500L and 500 Living MPV models. On the Design front, 500x looks like a beefed up 500 hatch complimenting its crossover DNA.Speaking of the interiors, dashboard is a similar 500 territory, a funky overall layout. Fiat has offered U-Connect touchscreen infotainment system that boasts host of connectivity features. Moreover, the AC louvers are awkwardly placed down the central console.
Fiat 500x is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. On the petrol front, 500X features a 1.4L turbocharged MultiAir II 140hp engine mated to a 6-Speed MT in FWD layout. Speaking of diesel, 500X gets 1.6L MultiJet II that produces 120hp mated to the same 6-Speed MT in FWD layout.
There's also a 140hp 2.0L MultiJet II motor, now things get spicy as this engine gets Fiat's first 9-Speed automatic transmission featuring 4-Wheel-Drive. All these engines will be available at the time of launch, later on Fiat will add a 170hp 1.4L turbo MultiAir II petrol with AWD and 9-Speed AT, a 110hp 1.6L E-torQ and 184hp Tigershark 2.4L motor.
