He further added that though it is too premature to say anything at present but they are very flexible on that.

Rao also said that Renault India has a global approach. While the conceptualisation and development will be done in India, the car will also be exported to markets similar to India. The new car will fulfill the intention of being exported to other markets like India. Between the period of 2011 to 2013,Renault is also planning to launch five brand new cars in India. This will also include a small car. Possibly, Renault may share the platform of Nissan, company's partner for launching the small car in 2012. Renault India Country General Manager Marc Nassif was quoted saying that the company has decided to introduce five cars in the two-year period between mid 2011 to mid 2013. About the proposed small car, Nassif commented that Renault will introduce the hatchback in the most competitive B segment and it will be launched in 2012. The company may share a Nissan platform for launching the small car, added Nassif. For setting up a plant in Chennai, the company is investing Rs 4,500 crore with its partner Nissan.
