Renault making an India Specific Car

The French car maker Renault is at the conceptualisation phase for a car which would be specifically meant for the Indian customer. This India specific car is speculated to be launched after the year 2013. However, it is being said that this upcoming model will not be merely for the Indian customers and soon it will be exported to some other markets which are similar to the Indian market. Along with its partner Nissan, Renault is spending Rs. 4,500 crore for setting up a plant in Chennai. This plant will be having the capacity of around four lakh units every year. Renault intends to capture the emerging Indian market. The auto major has recently appointed Len Curran as the Vice-President, Sales and Marketing Renault India for accelerating the company’s growth. Len Curran will also be the member of Renault India’s management committee. Curran, since 2006, has been the Director of Commercial Operations in UK Renault. Curran is known for his skill of turning a weak brand into a strong brand or a strong brand into a stronger brand by turning less profit into more profit.

Renault has got the plans of becoming an independent and dominant auto player in the Indian auto market. Recently, the automobile market of India has registered a ten per cent rise in its growth. The auto major Renault wants to use the power and potential of the Indian auto market. Managing Director of Renault India, Marc Nassif, stated that the strategy as well as the plans of the company are going on in a fast speed since the year 2010. Now the company intends to establish its models in the Indian automobile market as soon as possible. Renault has already started looking for the dealers all over the country. As per the auto experts, the aggressive planning of Renault will soon meet the sales target in the country.

Though the company has got aggressive schemes but in no way it will compromise on the quality or brand. The company has got the plan of introducing a complete range of Renault’s products in the Indian auto market in a duration of just four years.
