Renault to source parts from India for Renault Twizy

French car maker Renault announced that company is going to buy car parts from Indian vendors for up-coming two-seater electric car, the Renault  Twizy, which is expected to be launched in European market by December 2011.As per recent reports, managing director of Renault India, Marc Nassif said that accessories and body parts of Renault Twizy two-seater electric car will be sent from India but due to unfavorable market and low infrastructure for electric cars in the country, the car will not be sold in Indian market.

It is worth mentioning that three years back Renault India started the shipment of accessories and parts from its logistics storehouse at Pune to carry out assembling of cars in countries like Brazil, South Africa and Europe.Nassif further commented that Renault bought car components worth 35 million Euros in 2010 and company is aiming for 70 million Euros this year and 100 million Euros for 2012.

Additionally, Renault India recently unveiled the sedan car Renault Fluence, which is also company’s first independent car in India. As per resources, Renault officially announced earlier that company will be launching five Renault cars including all major segment cars from compact small car to SUV within a time period of 15 months. Company already started the launches with Renault Fluence which will be followed by the 2011 Renault Koleos Crossover which is expected to hit Indian roads by October 2011. However, with Renault Koleos price being most likely to stay between Rs. 16 - 20 lakh, Skoda Yeti and Honda CR-V will have to look out for their market share.
