Second-gen Hyundai Creta Looks Similar To Its Chinese Model!

The next-gen Hyundai Creta is likely to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo as it is planned to go on sale before April 2020

The second-gen Creta has been spotted testing in India for the first time. Although the SUV was heavily camouflaged, it revealed enough to confirm its identity.
From what can be seen, the India-spec Creta looks similar to the China-spec model. This comes as a surprise as the India-spec Creta was expected draw synergies with the Brazil-spec car, which will feature a rather conventional design when compared to the ostentatious China-spec model.
The second-gen ix25 follows Hyundai’s new design theme which we have earlier seen on the Palisade (not on sale in India) and the Venue. Up front, it features bumper-mounted headlamps and C-shaped LED DRLs split into two.
The new ix25 also gets a chunkier front grille, which looks similar to the unit seen on the Venue. The rear, however, doesn't look anything like we have seen on a Hyundai car. It mimics the setup up front and gets another C-shaped element split into two.
From the side, the ix25 looks muscular thanks to flared wheel arches and a sharp shoulder line. The second-gen Creta will share its platform with the Kia Seltos and is expected to be bigger than the outgoing model.
The Kia Seltos, for instance, 4315mm long, 1800mm wide and 1620mm tall. It is 45mm longer, 20mm wider and 45mm lower than the current-gen Creta. The Seltos also has a 20mm longer wheelbase.
On the inside, the ix25 gets a large Tesla-like infotainment screen which replaces the central console. However, the India-spec model is likely to get a conventional 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system similar to what we have seen in the Kia Seltos.
Other features on the Creta are also expected to be similar to the soon to be launched Kia SUV. The Kia gets segment-first features like a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, blind view monitor, a 400W Bose sound system, a head-up display and all-LED lighting, among others.
Under the hood, the current Creta comes with a set of 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. However, the new Creta will share its powertrain with the Seltos. The Kia SUV is available with three engine options, including a set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The Kia’s engines are BS6 compliant as well.
As far as transmission options are concerned, the Seltos will be available with four gearbox options. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be available as standard with all three engines while automatic transmissions will be available as optional.
The next-gen Creta is expected to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo followed by its launch before April 2020. It is expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh. Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Maruti Suzuki S Cross, Renault Duster and the Renault Captur along with the upcoming Skoda Kamiq and VW T-Cross.
