Skoda India to roll out the cut-price Superb Ambition on 18th April

The auto giant from Czech Republic, Skoda has announced the launch of the cut-price variant of its flagship sedan Skoda Superb on the 18^th of this month. This new and affordable variant of Skoda Superb has been named as Ambition and will be available in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol and diesel Skoda Superb Ambition are priced at Rs. 18 lakh and Rs. 22.5 lakh respectively (both prices are ex-showroom Delhi).

When compared with the top-end model ‘Elegance’, the exterior features that are expected to go amiss from the cut-price Ambition variant include the projector headlamps, headlamp washers and front proximity sensors. On the inside the feature expected to be stripped off is the touch-screen central console; the 6-CD changer has also been replaced by a single CD player with MP3 support.

The features of Superb Elegance that are expected to find place in the Ambition variant span the safety category. Skoda Superb Ambition will be equipped with eight airbags, ABS, Traction Control System (TCS), EBD, Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The petrol variant is housed with 1.8L turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox whereas the diesel variant is powered with 2.0L turbo engine mated to a DSG automatic gearbox. The cut-price Ambition variant is also missing on the tyre-pressure monitor. With so many features going amiss, the car is priced significantly less (Rs. 1.5-1.8 lakh) than the Elegance variant of Skoda Superb.
