Skoda may launch a mini Octavia in India very soon

Skoda Octavia, one of the most popular sedan in Skoda's India portfolio which was debuted in the Indian market in year 2001, is all set to be launched in a new version in the Indian market by next year. The new version will be a mini sized Skoda Octavia that has been christened as Felicia by the company in the global market. The Skoda Felicia model was expected to be showcased at the recently organized Moscow Motor Show but the company had decided not to display it there. See More Skoda Octavia Pictures It seems like the company has decided to phase-out this car from the Indian market as the model hasn't been upgraded as per the new BS-IV emission norms due to which the model has been discontinued in 13 major Indian cities. It is to be mentioned here that Octavia was the first ever car of the Skoda in the country and since then it has been through a series of up-gradations. The car has got a huge fan following during all these years. At present it is competing with some of the most popular premium sedans in the Indian market including Chevrolet Cruze, Toyota Corolla Altis and Mitsubishi Lancer. The car has been one of the best selling for the company but as it has been discontinued in 13 major Indian cities, its sales figures have suffered a lot. The current portfolio of the company in the Indian market includes a range of cars including Skoda Fabia, Skoda Laura and Superb. Meanwhile, the company is all set to launch its much anticipated SUV Skoda Yeti in the Indian market. The Yeti model is expected to be launched in the country by the end of this year along with an expected price tag of Rs 10 to 14 lakh.
