Skoda increased its sales by 8.3% with 76,000 vehicles (February 2014: 70,200) delivered to customers internationally, thus recording their best ever February sales. The new Skoda Fabia, introduced at the end of 2014, have increased 11.7% in Western Europe and 32.7% in Central Europe. Skoda's flagship, the new Superb, will also be heading to dealerships in June. So Skoda can expect a good year in terms of sales. The new Octavia came out as the brand’s best selling model with over 32,000 units sold. China remained Skoda’s strongest market with 17,700 vehicles delivered to customers in February, an increase of 24% (February 2014: 14,200).
In India, however, Skoda’s sales went down by 15% from 1300 cars in Feb 2014 to 1100 cars in Feb 2015. Skoda India will be looking forward to the launch of the new Fabia and Superb in the country to gain some momentum.
“Skoda has made an excellent start to the year after a record-breaking 2014. The first two months have highlighted the brand’s positive momentum,” says Skoda Board Member for Sales and Marketing Werner Eichhorn. “We are particularly pleased about how well the new Skoda Fabia and Fabia Combi (estate) are doing. The new Skoda Superb will be giving us a further boost, attracting new customers and expanding our consumer base.”
