Tomorrow on September 10, 2014 Skoda will launch the Facelift version of Yeti. The facelift version was first showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo and with the updated model on the showrooms, the automaker looks to revive the SUV that first came four year earlier in 2010. The SUV lock horns with Mahindra XUV 500 and Renault Duster AWD among others.
The facelift version now sports redesigned front and rear bumper, bold grille, revised bonnet design, new fog lamps, Bi-Xenon headlamps and LED taillamp cluster. The power ORVMs get a new casing with side blinkers while the sporty alloy wheels add more to its overall design. The Skoda Yeti facelift will be offered in seven different color options with three roof colors to choose from.
While inside the cabin, Yeti gets Octavia inspired three spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, premium seat covers, cruise control, upgraded music system. Apart from all these, the SUV sports keyless entry with push button start, electrically adjustable driver seat and new tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Yeti comes equipped with the same diesel engines that then powered the Laura as well. The 2.0 TDI unit in two different state of tunes are carried over in the new Yeti as well which is not a bad thing at all. The front wheel drive only variant gets 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque, while the 4x4 version gets 140 PS and 320 Nm. While power and torque outputs remain the same, the new 4x4 Yeti gets a 5th generation Haldex clutch unit which is a tad bit easier to engage compared to the earlier car which operated on a point and stalled plenty of times. There are eight airbags in the new Yeti and it is available only in the Elegance trim. There isn’t a major change on the inside of the Yeti.
