Tata, Ford, Skoda also cutting car prices

In an promotional event Tata Motors, Ford, Skoda and TVS motor have taken an step of reducing the car prices upto Rs.60,000 in the responce got from 4% reduction in central value added tax (Cenvat) from the central government. The reduction in the car prices were announced after the press conference been organised by Tata Motors. According to some of the officials of Tata Motors the passanger cars of these cars like Indica and Indigo are expected to cost nearly Rs.12,000 to Rs.23,000 lesser than than the existing prices. And in the category of Utility Vehicles Safari and Sumo are expected to get from Rs.16,000 to Rs.36,000 lesser than the existing prices. In the category of light commercial vehicles, prices are expected to go down by nearly Rs.17,000 to Rs.23,000 while in the category of medium and heavy commercial vehicles the price range is expected to go down b Rs.30,000 to Rs.60,000. According to the officials the reduced prices are expected to be become effective from 8th of December. Skoda had reduced the prices of one of its model variant vehicle named Fabia earlier this year when the excise duty was cut down. At that time only the Skoda group also reduced the prices of its various model variants from price ranging from Rs.12,500 to Rs.51,500 on nearly all its models. According to some of the company officials the montery and regulatory measures been taken by the government along with the credit availability at lower rates of interest and the increased liquidity will certainly going to make the growth to new heights.
