Tata Motors to release Tata Nano Diesel variants by this financial year

Recent developments in Indian auto market states that, Indian car maker Tata Motors India along with his global partner Jaguar Land Rover is planning to launch the diesel variant of its popular small car Tata Nano. Further, Company is expected to release the Tata Nano diesel during FY 2011-12. The official reports are yet to be known but speculations roaming on internet show that Tata Motors is working hard to come up with the diesel variant of Tata Nano as soon as possible.

According to sources, due to ever increasing petrol prices and burden building on Indian consumers, Indian automobile companies are seeking other options for keeping the sales figures rising. It is worth mentioning that due to hike in petrol prices, Maruti recently launched Maruti SX4 diesel and other Global car manufacturing companies like Hyundai and Volkswagen are in-line regarding the launch of their diesel variant cars. Further, Tata Motors said that company is going to release number of products in FY 2011-12. The road test analysis of “people car” Tata Nano diesel states that the car is capable of delivering mileage of whooping 40kmpl.

And as per speculations Tata Nano Diesel is expected to come added with a CRDI diesel engine from Bosch. With detailed information yet to be disclosed, the car is most likely to hold 0.75 Litre Engine under the hood which will generate a power output of about 30BHP. As for now, in diesel version Tata Nano price is expected to stay between Rs 1.41 lakh and Rs 1.97 lakh since Tata Motors would like to keep the costing as low as possible.
