Tata Nano ready to be rolled-out from Sanand

Tata Nano, the small car sensation, which was launched in India a year back is ready to be rolled out from its newly established Sanand plant, in Gujarat. The company had decided to relocate from Singur (West Bengal) to Sanand in Gujarat after facing a series of political and farmer resistance last year. Besides the Sanand plant, the company is manufacturing the Nano at its facility in Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.
The Tata Nano plant at Sanand has a manufacturing capacity of 5,00,000 units per year. The company will be manufacturing 2,50,000 cars initially and it will attain full capacity in phased manner in coming years. The roll-out of Tata Nano on 1st May will coincide with golden jubilee of Gujarat, which came into being on May 1, 1960, which makes it more exciting in Gujarat.
Till now company has delivered around 25,000 Tata Nano cars in India, though the it has already received bookings for more then 2 lakh Nano's, last year. It is expected that the company will clear this order backlog by the end of this year.
Tata Nano has attracted many major car manufacturers to invest in India in the small car segment and many car makers have already in the process of launching their new small cars in India. Where Nissan, Renault and Bajaj have entered in a joint venture to manufacture an ultra low cost car in India, the Honda India has already showcased its new small car concept in Delhi Auto Show, in January.
After the launch of Tata Nano many leading car makers of the world eying on the wast opportunity exists in India. Where the small cars like Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo has been launched in the country, cars including Toyota Etios, Nissan Micra and Tata Aria are going to be launched in India, in coming months.
