As part of this plan, Tata Nano was parked at every Big Bazaar outlets including 70 outlets in small towns for the customers to have a look and feel of the small car of India, said sources. Both measures besides some down-to-earth efforts including aggressive media advertising really rocked and Tata Nano practically came closer to the common man geographically.

Initial indications of a rise in sales started coming in March when over 35 percent jump was witnessed. However, there are some criticisms that go hand-in hand with the boost in sales. Automobile experts have a strong belief that high incentives by the company might have also played a major role in giving a thrust to sales. Besides, Tata Motors also gave Tata Nano on a 30-day interest-free credit contrary to other car makers that give cars in cash, said sources. All in all, there may be criticisms and ways in and ways out but the Tata Nano sales predict that the car is soon to be the car of the masses in India besides other cars by Maruti such as Maruti 800 and Maruti Alto.
