World's cheapest car Tata Nano is expected to be seen driving on the Paki roads only if the problems between joint ventures and investment is solved by the government of the two countries. A Pakistani multinational company has shown its interest in importing automobiles from India's automobile monopolist Tata Group, which includes Tata Nano and CNG buses.

As per the statement given by the IMGC Global Chairman, Mr Amjad Rashid to PTI, they made it clear that they informed Tata group about it already, they will bring Tata Nano to Pakistan when restrictions on the trade policies will be of two countries will be forbidden

IMGC was planning to import CNG buses to Pakistan but they couldn’t because Pakistan trade policy allows only confined figure of vehicles and it is made compulsory for vehicles to be grouped within the borders. Also policies of Reserve Bank of India restrict joint ventures and investments in Pakistan.

IMGC is also showing great interest in shaking hands with the Tata Group. IMGC is the biggest manufacturer of edible oil and also the largest importer of Indian cinema. As per Mr Amjad Rashid, during a visit to Pakistan Rahul Khullar, Indian Commerce Secretary promised to remove the limitations when this topic was raised. With an annual turnover of USD 200 million, the Tata Nano is awaited to be brought in Pakistan .Once the restrictions are removed Tata Nano will be seen on Pakistan roads followed by CNG buses.

A delegation of Tata Group visited Pakistan two years ago, they wanted to donate CNG buses to Pakistan but the deal was cancelled because of the terror attack in Taj hotel, Mumbai. The launch of Tata Nano in 2008 with a price of Rupees 1 lakh brought the Indian automaker in limelight for its low-cost technology and products.
