Tata to launch Tata Nano EV in Europe soon

Tata Motors has reported to launch electric version of the world's cheapest car Tata Nano in Europe by the next two-and-a-half years. At the same time Tata Nano electric vehicle (EV) when launched will grow the company's electric vehicles portfolio. The new version of Nano Europa would be exported from India by the next two years, said the company sources. Tata Motors have made an initiative to introduce an environment friendly vehicle,says Ravi Kant Vice Chairman of Tata Motors. He also added that the introduction of the electric vehicle in all the major markets, but the costing of the car has not been decided yet. There have been no chance taken with compromising the environment friendly transportation for its customers. Tata Nano EV has spacious interior. It might has a predict range of about 160 km and the acceleration of about 0-60 kmph in under 10 seconds. Electric version of the car would be a four seater. There was a showcase of the Tata Nano Europa last year at Geneva Motor Show, and now they have decided to launch the car in some of the selected European countries in a few years. Tata Nano was also awarded the 2010 ICOTY (Indian car of the year) award. At the same it has been awarded as the Car of the Year by different Auto publications/ television channels.
