Toyota Etios Liva to be priced after the Union Budget 2011-12

Price of Toyota Etios Liva, the hatchback is expected to be declared after the annual Indian Budget 2011-12 which will be come in February-March. Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Japanese auto giants announced this on Friday (3rd December). The company will price the hatch on the same lines as Toyota Etios sedan. The Japanese auto maker also intends to increase the company's human resource by adding as many as 2,000 employees by the first half of 2011. Toyota by next year plans for mass production of its vehicles. Indian auto market is the second fastest growing market globally. The domestic auto market holds 70 per cent of the small car market sales in India. Currently, in India, Toyota Kirloskar Motors has almost 4,650 employees working under the brand.

The hatchback, will compete with the rivals such as Hyundai i20, Maruti Swift, Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo. The company will launch the Toyota Etios Liva by April, 2011. Toyota Kirloskar Motors intends to manufacture engines all by itself by 2012 and the transmissions by 2013. At present, 70 per cent of the car will be equipped with the local components but after the engine production almost 90 per cent of the car will be localized. Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), recently launched its entry-level saloon version Toyota Etios in India. The new sedan has been designed to capture the emerging markets globally. Toyota Etios is launched with a price tag of Rs 4.96 to Rs 6.86. The new car will be pitched against Maruti Swift Dzire, Mahindra Renault Logan and Tata Indigo. Toyota Etios cash registers have been ringing. Almost 3,077 cars have been booked in just two days of its launch. The delivery of the same will commence from January, 2011.

As per the company, by next year in March end or in the beginning of April, the company will introduce the Toyota Etios Liva and the delivery of the hatchback will commence from April. The price of the hatchback version will be decided after the budget. As per the Japanese auto manufacturer, after the launch of the cars, it expects to capture larger share in the domestic auto market. The company hopes to sell 70,000 units in the first year of its launch. After the launch the Japanese auto giant will be entering next level of its establishment in the Indian auto market.
