Toyota India to hike prices upto 2% effective October 1

According to the Deputy Managing Director, Sandeep Singh of Toyota India, the company intends to increase the prices of most of their models by 1.5-2% with an effective date of 1st October, this year. Apparently, all the automakers across the country are increasing the prices of their respective models to combat the high input costs.
Toyota Kirloskar Group, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese counterpart will launch the Toyota Etios diesel and Toyota Etios Liva diesel on 9th September. The Toyota Etios sedan and Toyota Etios Liva diesel will offer a phenomenal mileage of 23.59 kmpl, as certified by ARAI. While the Toyota Etios hatch is expected to take upon the Ford Figo and Maruti Swift in the market, the Toyota Etios sedan is likely to challenge the Tata Manza and Maruti Swift Dzire.
The Toyota Etios twins are expected to be powered by a 1.4 L D-4D diesel engine to generate a maximum power of 68 Bhp. With ABS and power steering as a standard in all the variants of the diesel twins, the airbags are offered as an optional package. Toyota Motors India might increase the Toyota Etios diesel twins price by Rs 70,000- Rs 80,000 over its petrol variants. The other Toyota cars in India are Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla Altis, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova, Toyota Cruiser, Toyota Pirus and Toyota Land Cruiser.
