Toyota Kirloskar Motor Feb 2011 Sales Grow by 55%

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has registered a growth of 55% in sales in Feb 2011, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 9,308 units in Feb 2011 against 5,993 units in Feb last year.
Cumulative sales for the period January to Feb 2011 stands at 18,509 units as compared to 11,982 units last year, recording an increase of 54%.
Commenting on the performance, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Marketing, TKM said, “We are very happy with the growth registered this month. This is largely driven by the sale of Etios with 2,786 units. We have sold 4,844 units since its launch in Dec 2010.”
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited, it was established in October 1997 (start of production: December 1999) in Suburb of Bangalore, Karnataka State spread in aprox. 432 acres. The Japanese auto giants manufacturers Toyota Corolla Altis, Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner manufactured in India. Toyota Camry Toyota Prado, Toyota Prius and Toyota Land Cruiser imported as CBUs.
The unit has an annual production capacity of approx. 80,000 units with Approx. 4650 number of employees.
The second plant of Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited on the outskirts of Bangalore, Karnataka State with an yearly capacity of 70,000 units started the production in December 2010. Currently the company rolled out its much awaited sedan Toyota Etios and the hatchback Toyota Etios Liva is to follow in the next month.
