Toyota to enlarge second facility in Bengaluru

According to the rumors in the Indian Auto Market, Toyota India is in full swing to increase the manufacturing capacity of its second facility in Bengaluru. It is being said that the total amount invested on this project will be approximately around Rs. 275 Crore or so. As per Mr. Sailesh Shetty, VP of sales of Toyota India, Toyota is planning to enlarge the manufacturing capacity of its Bangalore facility. Currently that plant manufactures around 70,000 units and after the amplification it would produce approximately 120,000 units. This information was mentioned on the launch of Toyota Etios Liva in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Toyota India’s 1st plant,  is situated on the outskirts of the Bangalore City, which has the capacity to manufacture around 90,000 cars per annum. The second manufacturing unit of Toyota India in Bangalore manufactures Toyota Etios Liva Hatchback car along with Toyota Etios sedan. Mr. Shetty also said that Toyota is aspiring to sell more than 60,000 Toyota Etios Liva and Toyota Etios sedan by the end of FY 2011.

Toyota Etios cars have been selling like hot cakes in the Indian Auto Market. Toyota India has already managed to sell around 21, 000 Toyota Etios cars by far. And to touch the mark of 60,000 car sales, Toyota India has plans to boost up its dealership network and add 25 other dealers in India, which in turn will make Toyota India to have a total of 200 dealers in the country.

In total, Toyota India is aspiring to sell around 1.4 Lakh cars this year. According to the reports, Toyota India is working out to amplify the localization filling to around 70 to 80%, which will certainly benefit Toyota India in accomplishing its goals. Some of the most prominent and popular models of Toyota India include  Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota Prius, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Innova, Toyota Camry, Toyota Etios Liva and Toyota Etios.
