Toyota's reputation at risk after safety problems surfaced

World's largest car manufacturer Toyota Motors has suffered a huge blow to its reputation after a series of safety problems surfaced in its car models sold in US market. Toyota took a surprising decision of suspending sales of its eight car models in US market due to some possible defects in its car models, though according to market analysts the blow on the Image of Toyota Motors could be even more serious.

The news came as a shock to many market analysts and automobile enthusiasts as the Toyota is known for its safety and reliability around the world. Just two years back the Toyota Motors replaced the giant automobile company General Motors as worlds largest car manufacturer. The company expended commendably in last few years in markets like United States but after this incident company is facing a sharp criticism from critics.

Toyota Motors announced that it is going to stop the production of its eight car models including popular sedan models like Toyota Camry and Toyota Corolla for a period of one week at its five North American plants. Company executives finding it very hard to convince its customers after the decision of recalling millions of vehicles due to some accelerator problems. Toyota shares plunged 4.3 percent to 3,705 yen after the news of suspension.
