What we can deduce from various Maruti teasers of the Vitara Brezza is that it appears to be a very promising product!
Update: Maruti has finally revealed its much awaited Vitara Brezza compact SUV at the Auto Expo 2016. The car is a sub-4 meter SUV and is brought to diminish the growing popularity of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in the segment. We did an article about the YBA in mid-December in which we had claimed that it could outsell its competitors in its segment just like the Baleno. For the uninitiated, YBA is the code name for the upcoming compact SUV from Maruti, the Vitara Brezza. It is now quite evident from the teasers that the car has the potential to outsell at least two of its rivals, the Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300. Let's see why.
To start with, looks sell, boy! The biggest example in this space would be the Ford EcoSport, which has been a runaway success, thanks to its visual appeal. Vitara Brezza is also offering a lot of visually pleasing features which this segment doesn’t offer as of now. Like we said before, from whatever we can deduce from the teasers that Maruti has released, the Vitara Brezza is likely to come with a contrasting roof! Though not available in India yet, Suzuki has been offering contrasting roofs in the Swift and the Vitara in the UK, and they look stunning! Besides this, the compact SUV is also coming with segment-first projector headlamps (probably Bi-Xenon like Baleno) with LED daytime running lights. The vehicle rides on these flamboyant 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels on 16'' rubber. Speaking of taillamps, the Brezza is expected to feature LEDs.
Moving on to the interiors, the vehicle has been spied previously with Suzuki’s 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system, which is again a segment-first touchscreen. When it comes to the mechanicals, the car is likely to get class-leading fuel efficiency with, again, a segment-first diesel-hybrid powertrain from Ciaz/Ertiga! For safety, it is obvious that it will get segment-first standard dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. There is a good possibility that Maruti will keep the price competitive, the way it did with the Baleno. And if that's the case, we really seem to have a winner here! Stay tuned for more!
