The South American arm of Volkwagen lifted covers off the facelift of the Volkswagen Gol hatchback and also of the Voyage, which is the sedan version of the same. Gol is counted amongst the best selling cars in South America and has been in the market since 1980s with around 5 million units sold in Brazil only.

On the exteriors, the looks have been inspired from the latest design of Volkswagen cars like Polo, Jetta and Passat. The facelift gets new tail-lamps, restyled tail gate. The cabin sees changes as well, although it has been touched much.

The dash-board flaunts chrome rings on the vent and the lighting of the cabin has also been dimmed. Powering the car will be a new 1.0-litre bi-fuel engine which will generate approximate power of 72bhp when running on petrol and a little higher power of 76bhp when running on gas (ethanol).

The top speed of Gol is 165kmph and it accelerates from 0-100 in 12.9 seconds. Volkswagen’s European division will soon premiere the new Golf Mk 7 in September, during the Paris Motor Show.  The Indian branch of the company has been in news for the upcoming Volkswagen Up! Hatchback, which was spotted doing test runs on the streets in Pune.
