Volkswagen Up likely to be unveiled in August

Volkswagen has finally declared that they are soon going to disclose the production date of their new Volkswagen Up. This new car by Volkswagen is going to replace the Volkswagen Lupo, a popular car in South America. The German car maker Volkswagen has chosen Paris Grand Palais on the Champs-Elysees in France for disclosing the date for the manufacturing of the car.

This car was first unleashed at Frankfurt Motor Auto Showcase, which was held in 2007. This hatchback car in India is mainly made for the small Indian families at affordable price. Volkswagen Up price in India is expected to be somewhere between Rs. 3-5 lakh. This would the cheapest car by the Volkswagen till date.

Volkswagen is planning to manufacture approximately 1 lakh cars in the very first year of its launch as India is a huge market of compact cars like Hyundai i10, Maruti Suzuki WagonR, etc.The company is planning to launch the all new Volkswagen Up in three different body styles; 2 door hatchback, a 4 door hatchback version and a 4 door wagon carrying longer wheelbase. It is intending to offer an all furnished tiny car, which is going to grant cosy feel to travelers on any path circumstances.

This small car and MPV are expected to give a stiff competition to the recently launched Toyota Etios Liva and Mahindra Xylo respectively.
