Volkswagen Vento Preferred VS Skoda Rapid Ultima

Volkswagen Vento Preferred and Skoda Rapid Ultima - Same platform, same engines, similar interiors but two new special edition. Both the companies have launched special edition of their C-segment offering. Lets compare the bit and pieces of these two limited edition cars.

Volkswagen Vento Preferred

Exterior:

As far as exteriors are concerned Vento offers new set of seven-spoke alloys, boot-lid low profile spoiler, chromed window line, sun-door visors, black side door protectors. Skoda, on the other has lot more to offer, at the outset, the car features twin black stripes running on the entire profile plus a side strip with 'Ultima' badge. The Czech sedan also features projector headlamps and fog lamps with cornering lights, all these are missing in the Vento. Rapid Ultima offer five-spoke alloys.

Interiors:

Skoda offers Garmin and Tom-Tom navigation, Double-din Bluetooth enabled music system, Leather package (steering wheel, gear nob and handbrake lever) and Leatherate seat covers. The car also features reverse parking sensors. Vento, on the other hand offers reverse parking camera, the windscreen mounted screen also doubles-up to provide navigation. The Vento also offers door sill plates.

Skoda Rapid Ultima

Skoda has introduced limited edition Rapid Ultima in both the two variants of the Rapid – Ambition and Elegance, both in manual and automatic. The Preferred limited edition is basically a dealer add-on and is preferable, available in mid variant comfortline with a price tag of 75000 INR. In the Preferred limited edition you can also choose which accessory you want and for the rest you can get discount in the overall purchase. Mechanically, both the cars are same powered by the same VW diesel and petrol motor. The 1.6 TDI turbo diesel churns out 105PS and 250Nm of max torque, while the 1.6 liter naturally aspirated Petrol churns out 105PS and 153Nm of peak torque.
