2014 Skoda Superb production starts at Kvasiny Plant

Skoda Auto, the Czech automaker unveiled the 2014 Skoda Superb premium sedan at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Now, the company has started the production of the all new Superb saloon and combi at the Kvasiny manufacturing plant. The company has modernized and expanded the Kavasiny production facilities to accommodate the production of the new top model.
“We have once again achieved a success in production engineering,” says Michael Oeljeklaus, Skoda Board Member for production and logistics. He continues, “The whole team from production, planning, tool construction and logistics have done a fantastic job coming together to work on the fourth start of production this year alone.”
The company has modernized the assembly and body shop with new equipment and tools to develop the next-generation Superb. The logistics process has also been optimized: The vehicle axles are now being delivered directly to the production lines through the ‘Just-in-Sequence’. The manufacturer has also designed new test rigs for the final assembly, such as the test system for vehicle geometry.
The redesigned Skoda Superb is now being developed at the modernized Kvasiny plant. The new Superb boasts attractive new design elements, a fresh interior and improved technical features. The consumption and emissions of the engine range have dropped by up to 19%. Internationally, both the saloon and combi will be launched by the end of June. Alongside the Superb, the Skoda Roomster and Yeti are also developed at the company's Kvasiny's production lines.
