Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced an increase in price of its model range available in India. While the Fully Built Units (FBU) have seen an increase of 13 to 14 percent, the Audi models which are locally produced in India have increased by 3.4 to 3.7 percent. “Further to the increase in excise duty and customs duty on large cars in this year’s union budget, we have re-evaluated our pricing strategy in India and have increased the prices of all products. However, we are still confident of achieving our sales target of 7500-8000 cars at the end of 2012”, said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India. For FBU models like Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A8 L and Audi RS5, customs duty has increased from 60 to 75 percent, as a result prices for these models have increased in the range of 13 to 14 percent.
The Audi A7 Sportback is priced at INR 66,04,000 onwards, while Audi RS5 now begins at INR 85,95,000 (Ex-Delhi).
