Audi India to drive the Future of Change

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, in association with theIdeaWorks, today announced the start of registration for the AUDI- INDIA Future of Change design and strategy competitions. The two contests aim to foster and reward creativity and innovation among engineering, design and management students and young professionals.

“Home to the world’s youngest demographic, we believe that India has the creative potential to lead the future of change. These unique nationwide contests aim to nurture promising talent and support them in developing pioneering ideas and solutions for Future Urban Mobility and Business Strategy. Beyond tapping into India’s vast talent pool, Audi will provide added momentum to this program by giving winners an exposure to world class automotive engineering practices by way of a traineeship with Audi. INDIA Future of Change is a unique Brand India program launched by theIdeaWorks last year and is supported by the Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of External Affairs. The program uses multiple contest platforms to engage students across the best campuses in the world with contemporary India. IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Bombay, Financial Times, INSEAD, University of Reading, NID Ahmedabad, Stanford Design for Change Center and CIID, Copenhagen are amongst those who are partnering this global effort.

These two contests will reach out to students and alumni of India’s top business, design and engineering schools. NID Ahmedabad and IMI, Delhi have come on board as knowledge partners for the design and strategy contests. Registration to the contests will be open from Tuesday, August 01 to September 30, 2011. Audi India recorded an impressive 100 percent growth from Jan – June 2011 with a sale of 2802 cars (1400 cars: Jan – June 2010). In June 2011, the company sold 408 cars – a growth of 75 percent over the same period last year (233 cars: June 2010). The Audi model range in India includes Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi RS5, the super sports cars Audi R8, Audi R8 Spyder available across the country in: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West and Pune. Further developments include Coimbatore, Delhi West, Indore, Lucknow, Mumbai South and Surat.
