Car sales went up in July

According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), both domestic car sales as well as exports went up in July. Maruti Suzuki, the leader in the overall car segment, saw the car sales jump 38 per cent from 34,795 cars to 48,115 units. Overall, commercial vehicles reported a 9.6 per cent growth in sales after a long stretch of negative growth, this happened only because of the 28-per cent growth in LCVs this July. CV sales were 7.5 per cent lower than that in the corresponding period last year.
