2010, has been one of the most successful year for the Indian auto market. With the increase in demands of cars the prices are seeing an all time high. Taking this in consideration, it has been noticed that the car manufacturers have raised car's prices and is in no mood to reduce these. It is a noted change since the beginning of the year. The reasons of the car makers continuous price hike is due to new emission norms, raising commodity prices such as rubber, steel, upholstery and more. The price hike will be borne by the consumers as they will not get the desired discounts. The discounts in this festive time is the lowest calculated in the three years.

Hyundai that ranks fourth in the world in automobile manufacturing is giving the lowest discount this year. Well here economics or a simple business law is be applicable that if demands are high, prices will be high. Because of this reason, the accelerating demand of Hyundai cars, the Asian company is offering minimal of discount possible. Hyundai Santro is being discounted the lowest this year compared to the previous year's discounts in 2007 which was Rs 50,000, in 2008 it was Rs 40,000 and 2009 was Rs 30,000. As per the sales director of Hyundai, Arvind Sexana, the market demands are high which is quite difficult to achieve. He expressed his views on the launch of the new Hyundai i10 that there is growth but with the market raising high it is getting tougher to meet the demand.

Maruti Suzuki one of the biggest players in the auto mobile market of India also agrees with its competitors. Mayank Pareek, the managing executive officer of marketing and sales of Maruti Suzuki said that market demands are crucial to meet and discounts are not an option which the company can consider. Companies are looking at the option of raising its sale on discounts. The company produces market winning products and is already facing hard time in catching up with the increasing demand in the market. The company already has waiting ques for minimum of 9 models from 12 in the portfolio.

Well its a flip story for Toyota. The Japanese auto company is about to launch the new compact car Toyota Etios in India. The company also has successful MPV Toyota Innova running on the Indian roads. The company increased the prices of the MPV by Rs 29,000 but is now coming with Rs 30,000 discount in the festive time.
