The South Korean carmaker has tied up with Pusa Institute of Technology in New Delhi
In its latest bid to enhance the education standards to bring them in line with the latest technologies, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has further strengthened its reach to students by joining hands with the Pusa Institute of Technology in New Delhi. The South Korean carmaker inaugurated the Hyundai Professional Development Center in the nation’s capital and it becomes part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) - Skill Development Program (SDP).
This isn’t the first such collaboration that HMIL has completed. HMIL made its first ITI (Industrial Training Institutes) tie-up back in 2012 and till date the company has joined hands with 38 ITIs, with at least one ITI in every state of the country. Via these tie-ups, HMIL’s objective to support the community is quite evident.
Working with established chain of institutes like ITI, HMIL helps develop special curriculum and provides training material, car, engine, gear box and other learning aids for a more practical experience. The idea is to create skillful professionals for the Indian automobile service industry. The new curriculum will expose students to modern automobile technologies and in-turn will help in opening doors to better career prospects.
Almost 95 per cent of the trained graduates from SDP (2012-2015) were recruited by Hyundai dealerships in 2016. This CSR initiative has already benefited over 1,000 students who enrolled for this course in ITIs across the country. To expand its reach to more aspiring individuals across the country, HMIL recently tied-up with an ITI located in West Bengal and with Chandigarh Polytechnic College.
