The Czech soldier from Volkswagen army announced two new variants of its flagship sedan Octavia at the 84th Geneva Motor Show. The Octavia will come in two new variants that includes G-TEC, a compressed natural gas (CNG) powered sedan and the opulent L&K (Laurin and Klement) variant. Skoda India couple of months ago revived the Octavia brand in the country after a brief discontinuation. It was the car that created grounds for the Czech automaker in India plus it hold high stature among Indian. Skoda India is expected to bring L & K variant sometime later this year while the possibilities of G-TEC variant are negligible. Skoda also made the world debut of Octavia Scout and the L & K variant in Octavia Combi, both of these version are based on the Octavia Combi (Estate version) which has the least possibilities for Indian soil.
Skoda Octavia L&K
Skoda launched the current generation Octavia in India although the company didn't introduce the L & K variant even in other markets across the globe. The L & K variant made its world debut at the Geneva. L & K represent the initial of 'Laurin and Klement', the last names of the two founder of the company which Skoda bought in 1925. Usually the L & K represent the top of the line variants of the Skoda lineup; remember the uber luxurious Octavia L&K variant that came in the discontinued previous generation Octavia!
The 2014 Octavia in L & K trim rides on 18 inch premium looking aluminum alloys. The car is equipped with Bi-Xenon headlamp, LED daytime running lights along with LED tail lamps. On the inside, new four spoke leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel plus CANTON audio system. The car is upholstered in combination of plush leather/Alcantara brown upholstery.
Skoda announced that the Octavia L & K will only come in 2.0 litre TDI and 1.8 TSI motors, a plus point both the motors are available in India!
