Mahindra Mini Xylo caught in lenses once again

The Mahindra Mini Xylo has turned out to be the car that has undergone testing for the longest period of time before launch. The Mini Xylo, with a five door hatchback has been put through a rigorous testing process for a very long time now and still are no indications of the process ending in the near future. Recently, the Mini Xylo was seen near a refreshment mall on the highway connecting Mumbai and Pune. The driver seemed to enjoy his food break, after covering kilometres on the road and obtaining important information for the engineers. It is already clear that Mahindra Xylo Mini lacks the additional upgraded features which the Xylo facelift is expected to get next week. The headlights can be clearly noticed and are directly copied from the Xylo. Similar is the case with the entire front portion.

As was the case with Xylo pickup, which was referred to as Genio, Mahindra has decided not to mention this model by the Xylo name. They are planning to launch in all new petrol and diesel engines which will be used for powering the Xylo mini. They can be also based on the present engines which have altered cylinders and hardware, which support the Mini Xylo MPV. The fact that is still not known is the exact planning that Mahindra has on its mind. They are very new to the small car manufacturing sector and have been a regular player in body types like MUVs, MPVs and SUVs. If the board is to be believed, the Mini Xylo five door could be pegged as a small SUV and not a hatchback. Being a little under 4 metres in length, the Xylo-mini has its extra wheel fixed on the rear gate and is expected to cost between the Rs.5 lakh to Rs.7 lakh range. The only question left to be answered is, whether Mahindra can outclass the Multijet powered Rio?
