In order to make the brand more appealing and to showcase current and future technologies and product lineup, the home gown automaker Maruti is all set to open new brand centers at prominent cities across India from where it draws maximum sales. The company in turn wants to elevate the Maruti's brand imaging from not just the India's largest automobile manufacturer to a technologically advanced customer centric automaker.
The company already has a sole brand center at Vasant kunj, South Delhi situated at the HQ; the company will make brand centers based on the existing one at Delhi. A senior Maruti personnel said, "Based on the successful concept of the brand center situated at our head office in upmarket Vasant Kunj in South Delhi, these 16 centers would purely engage customers to our new products and modern technologies that the company plans to debut in India".
Speaking of the brand centers, the company planed to build up centers at 16 strategic markets that bring over half of the total sales for the manufacturer. The first phase will cover Jaipur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Indore, Kochi and Calcutta. The total investment is expected to be in the vicinity of Rs. 1000 crores, initially the company will spend close to 100 core in acquiring land for the first phase development. The brand centers will only crater brand marketing and demonstration purpose and will not do commercial sales and service of maruti vehicles.
The company is on a rampage to increase its portfolio, recently they launch the Celerio hatch. It is expect that the manufacturer will launch SX4 Cross, sedan based on Ciaz concept (both the cars were displayed at the Expo recently), and updated Swift & Swift Dzire later this year. The company's new plant which is coming up in Gujarat is also funded completely by its Japanese counterpart Suzuki, so in turn company has enough capital for increasing the brand image.
