Maruti Suzuki that launched the much-anticipated Celerio hatchback, is likely to launch three cars this year. We reported earlier that India's largest carmaker will launch the updated Swift and Swift Dzire by the festive season. Now, reports are coming that the company is also planning to launch the production version mid-sized Ciaz by end of this year.

With the introduction of new Honda City, the competition level in the mid-sized segment gets stiffer. Other carmakers like Fiat and Ford have already announced their plans of launching the facelifted version of Linea and Fiesta, respectively, in the market. Maruti's mid-sized sedan, SX4 failed to attract buyers, as the company is now planning to introduce the Ciaz asap.

Like C-segment, the compact sedan segment also witness a series of new launches. Manufacturers like Hyundai and Tata Motors are all set to introduce Xcent and Zest compact sedan in a next couple of months. Seeing the growing competition, MSI decided to revamp its Swift Dzire which is currently ruling the segment.

Maruti Swift facelift has already been available in select markets like Japan and Europe. And, we expect that the company won't delay the launch of updated Swift and its sedan sibling in India. The revamped hatch featured LED daytime running lights mounted into the fog lamp and restyled front bumper. It is also speculated that the top spec variants of the Swift will get the new 16-inch alloys. Inside the cabin, the vehicle looks identical except few changes like new upholstery for the seats, an Auto-up one touch function to the driver's side power window and electronically adjustable side mirrors. Similar upgrades are also expected to be given to Swift Dzire.

At the recently held Auto Expo, Maruti unveiled the Ciaz concept which looks closer to its production version. It will be made available in both petrol and diesel guise- a 1.3-litre multi-jet engine and a 1.4-litre petrol mill.

This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same.
