Maruti to rename old Swift Dzire and reposition as a Taxi special

With the launch of the all new Maruti Swift Dzire CS, questions were raised as to what will happen to the old Maruti Swift Dzire. Instead of being discontinued, India’ largest carmaker has decided to continue this model with a new name and new position. The old Maruti Swift Dzire will have a price cut and would embellish the taxi market, as this sedan is known for higher reliability, high fuel efficiency and low maintenance costs. The sedan will also be renamed to pep up in the taxi market a bit.

The major highlight and one thing that fits the old Maruti Swift Dzire into the Taxi market is its large boot space, which is more than 400 litres making it larger than 2012 Maruti Swift Dzire. For those who prefer spacious boot space while purchasing a sedan, might still want to go for the older Maruti Swift Dzire. However, the 2012 Maruti Swift Dzire is superior to the older version in all aspects except the boot space, which is 316 litres in the new variant.

Earlier, Maruti Suzuki India victoriously managed to sell all the different generation cars together, but despite of such a huge amount of competition in the market today, Maruti is continuing to do the same with Swift Dzire.
