Mazda to re-enter India with a small car

The Indian market is soon going to witness the 5th largest Japanese auto maker to launch its cars in the country. Indian automobile sector is among the most growing sector in the world. The famous car companies from around the globe are trying to enter the Indian market for their benefits, the French auto maker Peugeot-Citroen has announced that it will soon launch its sedan in the market. Peugeot-Citroen is making its entry again in the Indian market after 10 years of its exit, seeing the profits that its cars' can make in the Indian market.
Mazda is famous round the globe for its sports cars, the company is also famous for its Rotary engine which powers the popular car Mazda RX8. The other popular models of the company are Mazda Miata and Mazda MX5.
As per the speculations it is said that the company has planned to launch a small car named Mazda 2 in the country. This hatchback with have ample of space and will offer good fuel economy. Other details regarding the car were not revealed by the company.
Mr. Takashi Yamanouchi, President and CEO, Mazda Motor Corporation, said that they have a long line up of the small cars and the sedans, which are affordable and economical as liked by the Indian customers. He also added that the company at present has not yet taken any decision weather they will come in India through JV with other company or will have their own subsidiary. All of this depends on the kind of cars that are viable for the Indian market.
The company will surely have to think about the price of the car, because at present stage this new comer will get a tough competition from other major brands in India. The upcoming cars in India like Chevrolet Beat Diesel, Maruti Swift in the small cars segment and,new Maruti Swift Dzire, Ford Fiesta among the sedans will give a tough competition to Mazda small car and sedan car respectively.
